Weekly Essay-King’s Letter

November 8th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

“Freedom is never voluntarily give by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed”
1) I find this quotation from King’s letter, must compelling because it shows the power that  people can have under oppression. It also shows that freedom isn’t just tossed around like a used tissue, freedom is what the human strives off of. Without freedom we may not have had many of the great achievements that mankind has had. Freedom allows the people to acomplished, they feel

A person can only take so much, as to their alien rights being taken away from them. An example would be the American people, the King never asked if we wanted freedom from him, we demanded it from him. Thus creating the Declaration of Independence. A valuable document from the colonists of the Americas demanding their freedom. This document has been used as the base for many other country’s declare for independence, and is still used today; two hundred years later. The writers of the Declaration of Independence attacked to the fact that we were demanding our freedom and we wouldn’t go down without a fight. Freedom is such a powerful gift that it must fought for and demanded for. Freedom is so precious that it isn’t just handed out, you have to earn your freedom and protect it, every chance you have.
